# Use Proxmark3 X on MacOS / Linux

To use Proxmark3 X on macOS and Linux, you have to use the raw command. Here's the step of compiling the evironment of Proxmark3.

### Install Proxmark3 Client

#### Install HomeBrew&#x20;

**HomeBrew** is a package management tool on macOS, similar to Debian's apt and CentOS's yum. If you don't have it installed, you can install it with the following command:

/usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"
```

#### Load Proxmar3 Repo

```
brew tap proxmark/proxmark3
```

#### Install Proxmark3 Tool

```
brew install proxmark3
```

### Connect Proxmark3 X

Both Micro-USB and Type-C Socket can be used to connect to macOS and Linux.

Command to **list port** of Proxmark3 X.

```
ls /dev/* |grep iceman
```

Command to connect Proxmark X

```
proxmark3 /dev/tty.usbmodemicemanxxxxxxxxx
```
